Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

A highlight while we were in New York visiting Victor's family was heading up to the Bronx to a Yankees game. Victor was so excited to take J to his first Yankees game and we had a good time. The funnest part for me was seeing all the New Yorkers get so excited when they saw J in his cute outfit (all Victor's doing by the way--he went to the store and got everything!) and asked if it was his first Yankees game.

It was a fun afternoon, where I spent waaaaaaay too much money for two hotdogs and water. That's all that sticks in my memory! Just kidding. It was a good game against the Washington Nationals--and the Nats won...secretly glad about that ;)

Married Conversations: Baby #2's Gender

Scene: we just found out what Baby Castro number 2 is, and we were on the subway going home.

Me: I just was really wanting to be like Kate Middleton, you know?

Victor: I know. But...you'll be like Princess Diana instead.

He gets me. And I love him.
And I actually am really excited now.

(picture is a current almost 17 week selfie, taken on our anniversary getaway. My first night away from baby!!)

Beautiful Southern Utah

Our last weekend in Utah was spent among my favorite place on earth: the beautiful red rocks of Southern Utah. I have so many happy memories here, and living other places sure makes you realize how unique and gorgeous Southern Utah is. We brought my sisters along so they could do some hiking with us and keep Baby J company. My bestie Kelsy also happened to be down there that weekend as well! We lived there together for our first years of college so she loves any chance to go down there too.

On our way down we did a new hike called Kanara Creek Falls. This was a fun river hike through an awesome slot canyon.

The next day we spent at Zion National Park aka the most beautiful place on earth. I love that place. We decided to hike Angel's Landing and it was much harder this time around being 14 weeks pregnant. Victor and Kelsy stayed behind with the babies, and it was so tempting to quit and join them. But we made it, and it was gorgeous.
 ^^best picture of the trip^^
We also took a little drive through Kolob Canyon.
A great weekend with great people. Love Southern Utah.

My sister Camille put together a little video of us at Zion if you care to watch!

Ten Months of Sweet Baby J!

Nine months was a fun month. It was also a month where I became extremely sentimental in not wanting him to get any bigger. He's now in double digits--so close to one. It's so bittersweet.
^^he loves clapping. a recent development^^

I am behind on this post, so I snapped these pictures on our little trip to the coast of Connecticut this week. They're not like my regular month pictures, but they're at J's all time favorite place: the beach. His favorite things are still the water and the sand. It's his happy place and immediately turns a bad mood around.
So much personality in such a small body. He is still so social with people--charming everyone around him. His favorite people are other babies and children, then animals, then everyone else.

He still has no stranger danger, which has been awesome as we have been traveling around so much introducing him to so many new people. He has been loving it, and I love it too. It sucks when you're so excited to meet someone's baby, and they're just a grouch.

We love this boy so much. I am amazed how the cuteness never grows old on us. Seriously, we are definitely those ridiculous people who sit there and gush.

Happy ten months, Baby Joseph!

In the USA!

Well it's been a while and honestly it's just been because I've been so lazy. Sorry. We are in the second leg of our grand pre-moving trip. Our first two weeks were spent with my family in Utah.  I have better pictures, but for now here are some phone pics (since I'm blogging from my phone--like I said, I am being lazy)

We had a very relaxing time in Utah just catching up with friends and family and doing big people stuff like buying a car! We also took our fun new car and road tripped to southern Utah, which I will post about soon.
^^with Grandpa J, his namesake^^

And I'll let you dear blog readers on a little secret. That shirt Baby J is wearing was how we announced some exciting news to our family :) We are so excited! We wanted J to have a friend close in age, so we are feeling so blessed.
