Arashiyama and the Monkeys

Arashiyama is the neighborhood on the outskirts of Kyoto and it is so beautiful and charming. And man, those fall colors! So, we climbed to the top of a mountain to mix and mingle with some of Japan's native monkeys. That was such a fun, random experience. Those monkeys are drama. They pick fights constantly with each other when you are trying to feed them, and if you look them in the eye, they freak! One caught me looking at it and got very upset ha ha.

I posted the above picture because the sweetest old man who owned this little drink stand really wanted to take our picture. The people in Kyoto were just so nice. The people here are definitely a reason we love Japan so much.

  1. That sign said don't touch or feed the monkeys! You rule breaker. Were they aggressive? The ones in Hong Kong are scary!
