Dominic is Two Months Old

Which means photo shoot! Isn't it so bittersweet how much they change in just two months? But I love how their looks are really becoming more defined. When they are newborns, every picture makes them look different. Anyway, here is my perfect little baby with his flawless soft still-so-new skin.

Dang, he is cute. And to be honest with you, I'm surprised he cooperated so well for these pictures because he still is like a little kitten who likes to be held close and not so exposed in the open haha. He loves to be held. Because of the fact that I have another kid to take care of as well and can't just hold him all the time, it feels like he is so high maintenance, when really I am realizing that he is just like a normal baby.

While he seems to be so sensitive, this kid is tough. He never cries when J smacks him in the face or too hard on the head, and we have had some other situations where J thinks he is "sharing" or helping when really he is abusing the poor kid. Dominic used to tense up when he heard J around, but sometimes now it's J coming to him and kissing him, holding his hand, etc., that makes him happy. It will be so interesting to see this relationship develop!

I just feel so blessed as I look at these pictures and look back on ones taken of Joseph. These absolutely perfect babies that have been given to me are such a gift. They are healthy and happy and I never expected to feel so fulfilled by them, even after the crappy days.  Yesterday was a hard day, but my cousin posted this beautiful quote that has lifted me up and help put things in perspective:

"You have nothing in this world more precious than your children. When you grow old, when your hair turns white and your body grows weary, when you are prone to sit in a rocking chair and meditate upon the things of your life, nothing will be so important as the question of how your children turned out...Do not trade your birthright as a mother for some bauble of passing value...The baby you hold in your arms will grow as quickly as the sunrise and sunset of rushing days."
---Gordon B. Hinckley---

I am so grateful for this baby, and he is definitely teaching me and refining me.

  1. He is so sweet. It did make me laugh that he used to tense up when he heard his crazy brother around. They will be best buds.
